Biochar & NRCS 336 FAQ

Where do you deliver?

Across the eastern half of the U.S., from bulk bags to full truckloads. Request a quote with your ZIP for delivered pricing.

How is your biochar priced?

We sell direct, with pricing as low as $250/ton delivered (subject to freight). Pricing depends on product, volume and delivery location — most quotes go out within one business day.

Do I need to go through NRCS to buy?

No. Most customers buy direct. NRCS Practice 336 cost-share is an option if you want the program to cover the material.

Can you make a custom blend?

Yes. We blend biochar with lime, gypsum, compost, fertility or micronutrients at your ratio, and can granulate or densify the result.

Why granulate or densify biochar?

Granules spread evenly through standard dry spreaders with far less dust; dense pellets cut freight volume and handle cleanly in augers and metered systems.

How is biochar applied?

Broadcast with a dry spreader and incorporate, blend into compost or manure, or apply micronized product in liquid systems.

What is NRCS Practice 336?

Conservation Practice Standard 336, Soil Carbon Amendment, is the USDA NRCS standard for applying carbon-based materials such as biochar and compost to improve soil organic matter, carbon stocks, aggregate stability and soil biology.

How much can I earn per acre through NRCS?

Farmers enrolled through our cost-share program typically earn $100–$300 per acre, depending on practices, acreage and their state’s NRCS payment schedule, with no upfront material cost.

Can I combine 336 with cover crops or no-till?

Yes. 336 is commonly planned with Cover Crop (340), Conservation Crop Rotation (328), Nutrient Management (590) and No-Till (329).

Do you offer samples?

Yes. Free samples ship with a lab sheet.
